1-0 lead is never enough. Lincoln always likely to throw the kitchen sink at us in the later stages as all home sides do. Should never be forced to backs to the wall play. Not form for automatic promotion I’m afraid. No support for Larin. No physicality. #saintsfc

This might be an unpopular post - but spare a thought for Jack Stephens and the week he’s had…

• Several errors and challenging performances leading to widespread criticism.
• New CB signed with at least 1-2 more CB options linked.
• JWP back to potentially challenge for first captaincy spot.

Easy to forget how solid he was last season and how loyal a servant he has been for Southampton.

It will be the right decision to replace him in the starting XI, but he deserves our continued respect.

[The Saint Centre @TheSaintCentre]

🇳🇴 Southampton-linked Henrik Falchener impressed in Viking’s 3-1 win over Dinamo Zagreb last night:

🎯 1 assist
✅ 93% pass accuracy
🛡️ 3 interceptions
⏱️ 61 minutes played

The 22-year-old defender is reportedly the subject of a bid worth close to £8m from #SaintsFC

[sfcpaul @sfcpaul100]

@TheSaintCentre Too much nostalgia for my liking….
Look forward not back.

[sfcpaul @sfcpaul100]

@stevomansfc @SaintRob__ West Ham bench…
We’re all pro football scouts on here 🤨

[Will Hodgetts @WillHodgetts]

Can’t believe I’m saying this, but giving Ramsdale a run in the team would be beneficial for all parties involved…

Peretz seems to have come back for this season far too relaxed and is making decisions he wouldn’t have done last year

Needs to know there’s competition #SaintsFC

[Brad @BradSaintsfc]

Can we stop pretending that Stephens brings anything to this team, surely whatever he does behind the scenes doesn’t alleviate from his near constant mistakes on the pitch

We need a CB and a CDM… and quickly

#saintsfc

[sfcpaul @sfcpaul100]

@stevomansfc @SaintRob__ “how good he was” Past tense. Need an energised combative midfield, fast transitions. JWP is not it. #saintsfc

STRONGLY DISAGREE.

This is an emotional, not sporting signing.

Huge wages, too slow & doesn’t suit higher tempo games. Doesn’t start over Downes or Jander. Don’t buy the ‘brings experience/set standards argument’ - we can have that without signing ex-players past their prime.

Saints v West Ham: Nice confidence booster for Millwall game 🙄
Echo the views of other fans for a new centre back & defensive midfielder asap.
Long serving Stephens should be put out to grass #saintfc

[sfcpaul @sfcpaul100]

@ellisnash_ Er no……

[sfcpaul @sfcpaul100]

@marz194_2 @markwhiteTV So much for labour’s “we’ll smash the gangs” and £millions paid to the French to stop the boats.

[sfcpaul @sfcpaul100]

@rickie2701 @saints_enjoyer Don’t agree with this. Why sack a first class coach who got us a 20 odd run
of matches unbeaten & into the playoffs?

[Saints Statistics @TheStatsSaint]

Tonda Eckert's Southampton Stats 📈

🏠 Games: 40
✅ Wins: 25
🤝 Draws: 9
❌ Losses: 6

🥇 League PPG: 2.06
📊 Winrate: 62.5

Can we really throw this away?

[sfcpaul @sfcpaul100]

21 game unbeaten required at beginning of next season (-4 points) Or I’d settle for several smaller runs. Auto’s to be aimed for to avoid this season’s spygate playoffs fiasco. #tondain #saintsfc

@Alijo566 @BylineTimesPod @GoldbergRadio Totally agree keep Tonda.

[sfcpaul @sfcpaul100]

@rickie2701 @saints_enjoyer Don’t get carried away. Spying on others is a natural thing (apart from the 72 hour rule). Tonga has achieved miracles with the 21 game unbeaten . Reputational damage will blow over after the cricket.

[sfcpaul @sfcpaul100]

@dankiz1 No keep him for a 21 match unbeaten next season. Any spy info was worthless anyway-the players achieved the 21 miracle.
