IT'S HOT AGAIN! Our very own Emergency Manager Amanda Meneses posted a little warning about the heat on her personal social page and said today might be a doosey. And that means…wait, what does that mean?
1/
There are some cases we can’t even crack. AMANDA WHAT DID YOU MEAN?! It's like Citizen Kane over here.
But what you should know is that it’s a scorcher today, tomorrow, next week, whenever. Stick your arm outside. You don’t need us reminding you every other post.
3/
Wear sunscreen. Drink water. Check on neighbors and pets. Check the back seat before getting out. Check on Gram Gram & Pop Pop. Careful with that energy use. ALL OF THE THINGS.
Don’t let it be a “doosey” today, be weather aware, and cool down in Southlake and beyond!

The firefighters/medics sent over this photo with donkeys & the message "hey PIO, let's see what you can do with this."
*PIO cracks knuckles*
Fair citizens, if you're ever hurt or need help, the Southlake Fire Department will get to you fast & take you to the HEE-HAWSPITAL.

It's #NationalPublicSafetyTelecommunicatorsWeek, we would recognize our team of telecommunicators who dedicate their time to serving the community. In 2021, they answered 41,503 calls to 911, including texts; 13,545 of those calls were dispatched to @SouthlakeDPS.
"The 2021 Fire Department Annual Report is Now Available"
The Southlake Fire Department’s Annual Report provides an overview of activities during 2021 & summarizes the hard work & dedication of the men & women that make up the City of Southlake’s FD.

By now, you know Southlake's own Hailey Hernandez is at the #Olympics ready to win some hardware for her diving.
But did you know about the super secret pre-quals that took place earlier this year involving Southlake Police & Fire?

DON'T BLOCK OUR DRIVEWAYS ON NORTH CARROLL! We know that they're repaving North Carroll north of Highway 114, and we know traffic is backing up down the stretch. We know. Now you know. But you can't block our driveways.
1/
If the fire engine, if squad cars, if the ambulances need to leave, we can't be just waiting for you all to move and scramble then. Leave a gap by all of our driveways PLEASE.
Seconds count and our fair citizens count on us to get to them in a timely fashion.

It's that time of year again! @Sparky_Fire_Dog has announced the 2021 #FirePreventionWeek theme. Watch this video to find out what it is: https://t.co/ifvJT0iHtG
Autographapalooza continued as Southlake Fire signed some annuals while checking up on a fair citizen's smoke detectors.
You'll recognize Firefighter Nic Miles there as the winner of the 2020 Customer Service Award, so that sig may be worth a little more than others.
TWINS! The Southlake Police and Fire Departments would like to congratulate Fred and Ethel Vultureson on their two newborn twins born earlier this week.
1/
Ethel nested in the slightly inconvenient spot in the middle of our courtyard at Station 2, where we used to like to take lunch breaks in between calls-- but we haven't been able to do that lately, because she looks ready to destroy you if you even open the courtyard door.
2/
What?! You didn't know Ethel was expecting? Well, we did because every photo she's been in for the last nine months she's casually held her wing over her stomach when she's never stood like that before- you know what we're talking about.
3/
She's also been eating a variety of strange things & laughing it off like it's totally normal. And then she had that gender reveal party a few weeks back where there were 10 vultures surrounding the courtyard & we're not making that up, & were still upset no one took pix.
4/
Babies are healthy & eating well. We missed the gender reveal thing so we're naming them Pierce (for our fire engine manufacturer) & Badge, which is what a police officer wears on his chest.
Fred & Ethel are registered at Buy, Buy, Birdie & Bed, Bath, & Buzzard. Congrats!

Thank you @SouthlakeDPS first responders who have worked extra hard this last week. Thank you to the EIS families who gave snacks. The fire truck stopped by Eubanks for a quick photo and then left with lights and sirens headed to a call. 🚨🚔🚒 #CompassionateService
