I see a lot of people commenting on this definition of Zionism from Wikipedia.

I don't agree with it.

2 main issues:

1/ Defining Zionism as colonisation. Jewish people always lived in Palestine, throughout the ages to a lesser and greater degree. This wasn't some random foreign land for Jews, it was their historic home land. Yes, the term colonisation was fashionable in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and some Zionists (e.g. Jabotinsky) used it in reference to Zionism, but probably the most neutral term we could use for it is really "mass migration" of Jews who lived outside Palestine.

2/ Stating that Zionists as a whole wanted as few Palestinians as possible, implying a shared goal of ethnic cleansing. Again, some Zionists have expressed support for that, but it's hardly a universal and singular goal shared by all.

Resources like Wikipedia which claim to be neutral and factual resources should really be more careful to stay factual and neutral. The Wikipedia article on Palestinian nationalism doesn't suggest that Palestinian nationalists want "as few Jews as possible", for instance. Even if groups like Hamas have advocated for ethnic cleansing of Jews. And rightly so—because Palestinian nationalists as a whole do not advocate for such a position.

The blinding rage directed at AOC & Bowman for daring to utter the word ‘antisemitism’ in relation to the pogromist mobs outside the Nova exhibit is something to behold.

I don’t take condemnations of antisemitism from these two as a sign of serious intention or allyship. They are complicit in creating the current climate, & their condemnations are cynical & politically-driven. But responses they are getting from their progressive-Islamist friends tell us something important about this moment.

Over the last few years there’s been a campaign going on to disarm, distort & discredit the very term ‘antisemitism.’ One time-tested technique here is to create so much confusion & controversy around the term that people would feel too hesitant to condemn antisemitism or speak of it at all.

This campaign has been decades in the making, but it picked up new energy during the last Hamas-Israel war in 2021. A few examples:

In May of 2021, Sanders’ national surrogate Amer Zahr called on activists to stop condemning antisemitism: “Don't condemn sh**, we have a cross-sectional, intersectional movement that is winning… Stop it. Stop it. Stay focused. Say free, free, free Palestine and nothing else.”

Soon after that, SJP mobs forced Rutgers to withdraw a statement condemning antisemitism. Rutgers complied, promising to be more “sensitive & balanced” in the future.

Then there was the case of April Powers, a Black Jewish DEI professional who had to resign from her job after she put out a statement condemning antisemitism.

Back in 2021 this all seemed shocking. Today it’s become completely normalized.

Constant claims that antizionism is not antisemitism are playing a massive role in creating confusion & intimidation around the issue.

By condemning antisemitism on their side of the political spectrum, however insincerely, AOC & Bowman have put a wrinkle in the progressive-Islamist clique’s ongoing effort to portray antisemitism as something Jews imagine & manipulate for their own benefit, including to silence criticism of Israel. Hence the rage.

In the current climate, even cynical, politically-driven condemnations of antisemitism on the left by the left matter because they signal to their followers that antisemitism is real & exists on their side of the aisle. Meanwhile, reactions to these condemnations show that any leftist daring to step outside the progressive-Islamist line on Jews will face the below & worse.

Should it be a short post, because people don't have patience to read?

Should it be a longer post, saying that they were little Batmans last Purim, and this Purim no one has any idea where they are?

Should I connect it to trending topics, like #MoscowAttack , because Bibas boys are victims of Radical Islamic terror too?

What will make you share it?
Is it boring? You want to just go on with your lives and forget all about it?

And all the relatives and friends of Bibas family, and the relatives and friends of all the other 134 hostages families,
will be stuck in this excruciating pain forever,
not knowing what happened to their loved ones?

This is not normal.

Activists have despicably published the names, images, professions and social media accounts of 600 Jewish people who work in academia and creative industries. They have also published a spreadsheet with links to the individuals’ social media accounts and a separate file with a photo gallery of more than 100 Jewish people.

This has led to death threats, seen a five-year old child be threatened by an activist and forced at least one family to go into hiding. Photographs of family members of the 600 Jewish people have also been circulated on social media, including photographs of children.

The Herald Sun has today also reported on Jewish residents in the northern suburbs of Melbourne choosing to move south to escape rampant antisemitism. In the words of one affected resident: “Every Jewish-owned business here is being attacked, online or in person, stickers of the Star of David, intimidation of staff, boycotting. We have a kid – I don’t think it’s the right place for him. I could take the antisemitism and become numb but I don’t want him to grow up here. I can’t see that we will be treated fairly here.”

This is absolutely intolerable. Jewish Australians are as entitled as any other group to engage in public debate. We are entitled to have views on all issues, including Australia’s foreign policy, and to make representations accordingly, without fear for our safety or wellbeing.

We will vigorously defend and support any member of our community who exercises their basic democratic rights in a respectful and considered manner. It is unacceptable for community members and their families to be put on lists and targeted for harassment and threats simply because they are Jewish.

There is no room for lynch mobs in modern Australia.
