Are you thinking I was saying that those 30 senators were correct in trying to block him? Cause my comment was directed at the fact that 30 of them said no, so I would like to know who they think would have been better? I wasn’t making it a political thing I was commenting on how awesome of a NASA Admin he is, that I can’t believe he was opposed by anyone in the senate if they actually did their job and looked past his social circle and see the man for who he is, and his love for NASA and the strengthening of the US space program.
@NASAAdmin@NASAWatch Don’t forget there were 30 senators that voted no to him being the NASA Administrator. I would love to know who they wanted instead.
When people start realizing that none of them are “IN POWER”, and instead are to be in service of We The People, none of it will change. Stop that thought process at all because all of them treat themselves as in power on both sides then do whatever they want and not represent the people.
@AJamesMcCarthy@elonmusk The day that Inspiration 4 splash down in the ocean I sent a text to my wife that said, “In my eyes this means I will be able to set foot on the moon before I die.“ I believe it more and more every day.
Mission success! Alpha Flight 7 achieved nominal performance and validated key systems ahead of our Block II configuration upgrade. This test flight also delivered a demonstrator payload for @LockheedMartin . Congratulations to the entire Stairway to Seven team! Read more: https://t.co/mz3wUbc8Hi
I hope the best for you and your dad. It’s got to be hard going through a battle like that. It’s a great thing you’re trying to do for him. Don’t forget SLS is supposed to be going soon too and the amount of history behind that one would be a site to see as a rocket nerd. @elonmusk@SpaceX@Gwynne_Shotwell@rookisaacman@NASAAdmin
What it seems like he is saying (and how I believe the system is written) is if you put $10,000 in. Then it gains say $1,000. You can pull the CONTRIBUTED $10,000 out tax free. But if you pull the $1,000 before retirement age, then that is taxed. If you leave the EARNINGS till retirement age then draw that it would be tax free.
DEI should be abolished, permanently.
I never want to be chosen, promoted, or rewarded because of how I look. I want to earn every opportunity on merit, through hard work, grit, discipline, and determination.
Equality means equal standards, not engineered outcomes. The dignity of achievement comes from effort, not entitlement.
Judge me by my character, my competence, and my results.
Anything less is an insult to everyone striving to be their best.
CA's new law requires tortilla companies to add folic acid to their products.
They're claiming that they're trying to, "Reduce birth defects in Latino babies."
Lack of folate, or lack of synthetic folic acid, is the primary cause of neural tube defects like spina bifida.
According to the CDC, the prevalence of spina bifida in the Hispanic population is:
- 3.80 per 10,000 babies
That's 0.00038%, or almost 1 in every 2,500.
But, there is something called an MTHFR gene which makes an enzyme that processes folate, or synthetic folic acid.
In someone lacking this gene, they'd have a difficult time breaking down folic acid.
The body would struggle to convert folic acid into its active form (L-methylfolate), leading to high homocysteine levels and impaired neurotransmitter production.
Lack of this gene would cause health issues like:
- Chronic fatigue
- Neurological issues (brain fog, memory loss, neuropathy)
- Mood problems (depression, anxiety, bipolar)
- Digestive issues (mouth sores, tender tongue)
- Pregnancy complications (neural tube defects)
- Blood clots
- Inflammation
The percentage of Hispanics who carry the MTHFR gene mutation which causes them to not be able to process folic acid is:
- 40%-70%
Forcing tortilla companies to add folic acid and advertising it as "We care about Hispanic babies" will create a health crisis in 40%-70% of the Hispanic population when there is only a 0.0004% risk of spina bifida.
The problem is, most people won't even recognize that these health issues could be caused by a lack of the MTHFR gene.
People will see their doctor complaining of the issues.
Their doctor will run standardized lab tests. They won't test genes. They won't figure out the issue. They'll prescribe medications to "reduce the symptoms."
Plus, if 40%-70% of the Hispanic population can't process folic acid to begin with, then the risk of neural tube defects and spina bifida won't really change anyway.
Just another way CA lawmakers virtue signal claiming "We Care" while secretly trying to create more health issues.
