@golfclubenjoyer To quote a well known owner of one of these new courses in the Carolina Sandbelt, when talking to current members about embracing the UK model and being challenged on the model, “Muirfield is pretty great, I’d recommend you check it out sometime.”
@NoTechBen Psst, set the draft based upon standings, but setup declining tv revenue for the teams in the lottery.
If you tank, you’d lose significant revenue, and I bet that would end tanking very quickly.
@WorldWideWob Tie tv contract revenue shares to standings.
1. Everyone that makes the playoffs gets a full share
2. Descending percentage of revenue share by standings at the end of the season.
I GUARANTEE it will eliminate tanking.
@All_Things_Mavs I agree with most of what you’re saying with one small caveat:
They don’t necessarily need to be competitive next season if they trade Kyrie. If they got back 27-28 picks then they could continue being patient.
@IsaacLHarris Exactly, waiting means he’ll only be older, and every day that passes means his comps get worse and worse for trade value. He’s injury prone, and everyone knows it. His value will always be depressed, so no point in waiting. Cap space and picks mean more than talent right now.
@LockedOnMavs@NickVanExit I’m tired of people evaluating AD as a concept rather than his actual value.
He’s wildly unreliable, so there should be no regret in trading him. Coop needs stability and a balanced and young roster.
@IsaacLHarris He’s an extremely talented player on both sides of the ball, and he’s massively injury prone.
Imo anyone wanting to “play it out” is saying they want to see our ceiling of a top 10 team (maaaybe top 5) that will get dismissed by OKC and stuck in roster purgatory. Sell sell sell
@NationMffl AD WILL get injured, it’s inevitable. This is the trap that he presents, when he’s here you think you can take on the world. But when he’s out and you are paying $60M dollars for no production, it devastates the franchise. Get what you can and move on.
@Boweman55 Agreed, it’s a tough spot. I felt like they looked a bit better in half court defense, enough to be league average at least with room for upside, but obv the catastrophic turnovers and fast break baskets off made shots or free throws have been back breakers.
@RepKiley Horseshit, and disingenuous. Saying none of the funding went to victims is a lie, there are tons of victims that benefitted from the support these nonprofits provided.
Yet another example of twisting the facts to weaponize misinformation.
