Blockchains are Public Key Infrastructures and accounting systems. They can be used to create universal profiles, keep public records safe from institutional corruption, and issue digital IDs.

The crypto bubble is bursting, hopefully sound infrastructure can take its place.

My friends are always surprised when they see a Web3 article written by me. I'm still a healthy skeptic, especially after FTX (DeFi is mostly scams).

However, Blockchain and Identity tools have merit. Hopefully they can survive to be useful security and privacy technologies.
