Nitrogen conservation is similar to wildlife conservation, bringing together diverse perspectives behind a shared goal. Approaches vary, but don't fall for attention-grabbing straw man arguments about groups either ignoring efficiency or advocating zero nitrogen applications
Great work from Hannah Lieberman arguing soil P is as or more important than N in determining MAOM accumulation and its sensitivity to global change! https://t.co/0vM02uXr0K
We used NEON data to explore the relationship between fine root and soil carbon stocks. With @JosephTumber@mingzhen_lu@aaberhe et al.

Excited to share our new article on Quantifying nitrogen provisioning and release from cover crops in walnut orchards - ScienceDirect https://t.co/NhxBsYD8Wf
New original research article: Soil organic carbon mineralization is controlled by the application dose of exogenous organic matter https://t.co/BL8javJQKj
The solution isn't "more". It's optimization.
Thank you to @sgrandysoil@metarolism and Tom Van Wagner for sharing their expertise and latest research to help our Maximum Farming Club Conference attendees optimize their soils.

I'm really proud of this work. We've been working hard to promote FAIR and Open Science in the field of soil spectroscopy. Thankful to all the organizations that have released public data sets to benefit the global soil community.
Published! Our framework organizes N cycle research through a microbial lens. Rather than focus exclusively on inputs, we emphasize internal recycling and plant-soil microbe uptake processes. We hope this helps frame research and communicate options to growers.
The last chapter of my PhD is out in @NatureComms! We show that the formation of different soil organic matter pools is associated with distinct microbial traits, and that synergies among traits promote SOM quantity, stability and functional complexity. https://t.co/rPdRjQJt1J
So pleased to share this paper that is now out in Nature Ecology & Evolution synthesizing 16 years of data from our Soil Warming x Nitrogen Addition study @HarvardForest: https://t.co/sMTKlI7VkP @unhresearch@sgrandysoil@SoilBioME
