@nickjhistorian I prefer footnotes, I use them myself. I hate having to go to the end of a chapter or the whole book to get to notes.
Though, end notes can be good because they are easy to find in a nice neat appendix when you need them.
But otherwise, footnotes all the way.
They aren't 'terms from yesteryear', they still exist and still infest the world with their cancerous genocidal ideology.
Our very own Australian Labor Party is a member of the Progressive Alliance, a socialist alliance filled to the brim with socialist parties. They also have a regional affiliation to the Network of Social Democracy In Asia - another socialist alliance. The Greens are likewise filled with various species of socialists and literal communists.
The CCP, literally the Chinese Communist Party, is another group of actual Communists that our ALP and far left parties like the Greens are far too pally with.
Socialism and communism are not blasts from the past, they are here and they are in charge of our country and doing their damndest to turn it into a third world socialist shit-hole.
There's a couple of suburbs in inner city Brisbane that have them go through every couple of years. They're normally damaging, but not usually destructive. They'll rip rooves off of houses, uproot trees, smash windows - that sort of thing.
One also went through the Scenic Rim (hills south of Brisbane from Logan to the Gold Coast) and wreaked absolute havoc a couple of years back.
We do have them and they can cause significant damage, but most are nothing like the power of the ones in the US.
Didn't you hear that use of AI whether generative or, as in this case to add a lighting effect and title, has been added to the list of 'deadly sins'.
It replaces 'pride' and 'lust' which have been co-opted by the 'normal people' as virtues.
It's also now the 11th commandment, 'Thou shalt not use AI in thy work lest the self appointed guardians of the Internet smite thee'.
@exQUIZitely It was a good opportunity to go and make a cup of tea and a snack while waiting to see if it was going to load or fail... which it did far too often.
I hope I'm wrong and jumping to conclusions, I've been through multiple economic collapses from the 70s to now. This one seems worse, the saying 'Burn the Country Down and Rule the Ashes', whoever said it, seems apt right now considering the focus of the ALP.
I really hope I'm jumping at shadows, I will be very happy if I am and things start to turn around.
@OriginalGrogna1 I started with 1e until 2e came out and we switched that, I thought it was more fun but we still often played 1e as well because my group loved both.
It just depended on who was DM-ing at the time.
It's like a cancer spreading through everything and killing the fun.
At least I've still got my pre-Theatre kid games and a lot of them have good replayability. I'm playing the DOS version of Eye of the Beholder at the moment. It's not nearly as much fun as sitting down with a few mates and going through an adventure, but there are no spoiled brats to ruin the fun.
@rabbriansamuel C.
Colossians 2:16 Therefore let no man judge you about what you eat and drink or about the observance of a festival or of the new moon or of a sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things to come, but the reality belongs to Christ.
@YoDanno I mainly played a ranger, cleric or ranger/cleric. Usually human or elf and when 2e came along usually a Grey Elf, pretty much always neutral good. I'd play other classes and races sometimes, depending on the adventure we were taken on, but they were my mains.
