Hollywood is a more complete education than the classroom.

Think about what film actually does, as a technology.

It puts you inside someone's perspective.

You experience their fear. Their grief. Their relief. Their love.

For two hours you are not watching a person, you are, in some neurological sense, "being" them.

Now consider how many hours of screen time an American has spent experiencing the world from inside an American soldier, an American agent, an American hero of some kind, before they ever encounter a history book.

Thousands of hours.

Thousands of hours of practiced empathy with one specific perspective.

The history book never had a chance.

The history book is propositions.

The film is felt experience.

And felt experience, when you have thousands of hours of it, becomes "common sense."

Becomes the unexamined baseline against which facts are measured.

The mass grave is a fact.

The soldier's face is a lifetime of practice feeling from the inside.

This is not an even fight.

This photo was taken in 2006 by Stephanie Sinclair. She named the girl as Ghulam Haider. Even the most ill informed expert on Afghanistan will tell you that Ghulam Haider is exclusively a male name.

This scene was created by Sinclair, this wasn’t during an engagement or during a marriage party. Sinclair told them to sit there on that cushion, with that curtain in the background, and then she took the photo.

She then made up the story, made up the names (couldn’t even come up with a female name), and then spread the news far and wide for her own personal selfish interests + aligned national interests.

She then received big awards for this photograph, because it supported the American occupation’s pretext of saving Afghan women from brutal savage Afghan men.

She was also involved in the Parwana debacle of 2021, where she helped setup a fake marriage between a man and his niece (who was a child). She then went and “saved the girl” from the evil men that were trying to destroy her, and got international coverage for it, mainly because now, their NGOs were saving helpless women from evil Afghan men after the military solution failed.

Her organization is called Too Young to Wed (TYTW). As of 2026, they are still operating in Afghanistan, but keeping a low profile.

Gandhi is taught in Western schools for a reason.

Not because nonviolent resistance is the only thing that works. Because it is the only thing the system is comfortable including in its curriculum.

Teach Gandhi.

Don't teach the Mau Mau. Don't teach the FLN. Don't teach the Việt Minh.

Don't teach the conditions that made those movements inevitable, the specific brutalities that nonviolent petition had already failed to address for decades before people concluded that petitioning had a ceiling.

The lesson they want you to take from Gandhi is: change comes from asking politely with great moral dignity.

The lesson they don't want you to take from the full history is: the British left India because the empire was no longer sustainable, economically or militarily, after the Second World War, and the independence movements across the empire made continued colonial control more expensive than it was worth.

Gandhi mattered. Gandhi was extraordinary.

He was also operating within a specific set of historical conditions that made nonviolent resistance viable in ways it is not always viable.

The system teaches you the tactic without the conditions.

So you apply the tactic in conditions where it was never going to be enough.

And then it tells you that you failed because you didn't have Gandhi's moral purity.

Secretary of State Colin Powell presented the case to the UN Security Council on February 5, 2003 - complete with diagrams of mobile weapons labs that didn't exist, satellite imagery of facilities that weren't producing weapons, and aluminum tubes that couldn't be used for centrifuges.

Powell later called it 'a blot on my record.'

What was rarely discussed: in November 2000, Saddam had switched Iraqi oil sales from dollars to euros. This threatened the petrodollar system - the arrangement by which oil is traded exclusively in dollars, forcing every oil-importing nation to hold dollar reserves.

Iraq was invaded in March 2003. One of the first acts of the new government: switching oil sales back to dollars.
