It has accidentally exposed the biggest weakness in the "Viksit Bharat" story
The problem is that we are producing certificates without enough careers, skills without enough jobs, and slogans without enough opportunities.
A government can celebrate GDP numbers.
But development is ultimately measured by whether a young person can study, find meaningful work, earn with dignity and build a future.
Viksit Bharat cannot be a PowerPoint presentation. It has to be a lived reality.

NITI Aayog’s latest report should worry us more than another GDP headline.

8.7 crore young Indians are outside education, employment or training. And reportedly, only about 8.25% of graduates are working in jobs matching their qualifications.

This isn't merely a “skills gap”.

It is a development gap.

A country cannot become Viksit Bharat by producing degrees faster than it produces decent jobs.

The real question isn't how many young Indians have certificates.

It is: how many have a future?
