Two weeks ago, his VP gave him a spot bonus for exceptional leadership.

Yesterday morning. No call. No warning. Just an automated HR email.

He has two kids. One in college. One preparing for JEE next year.

He didn't cry. He just sat silent for 5 minutes. Then said What do I tell my father?

14 years of loyalty. 48 LPA to zero in one email.

And they still put People First in their job postings.

His name is Abdul Wahid Shaikh.

He was a schoolteacher in Mumbai.

On July 11 2006 seven bombs exploded on Mumbai’s suburban trains during evening rush hour.

189 people died.

Police arrested 13 men including Wahid.

He had nothing to do with it.

He spent 9 years in jail waiting for trial.

In 2015 a court acquitted him. Zero evidence. He walked out.

But 12 other men from the same case were still inside.

For the next 10 years Wahid did not rest.

He fought for those 12 men from outside the prison.

On July 21 2025 the Bombay High Court acquitted all 12.

The court said the prosecution utterly failed to prove the case. Confessions were extracted through torture. Witnesses were unreliable.

19 years. For nothing.

No compensation was paid to any of them.

No police officer was held accountable.

No apology was issued by the state.

Wahid distributed sweets outside the courtroom that day.

That is the kind of man wrongful imprisonment could not break.

I travelled to Madhubani, Bihar to report on the brutal killing of Roshan Khatoon and what I found is deeply disturbing.

On 25 February 2026, during the month of Ramadan, Roshan Khatoon was tied to a pole and mercilessly beaten by more than 20 people, including men and women, while she was fasting, after she went to the village head’s house to resolve a dispute.

Her family says that when she asked for water, she was instead forced to drink a mixture of alcohol and urine, an act they describe as deliberate humiliation because she was a Muslim woman.

She succumbed to her injuries on 1 March.

What followed raises even more serious questions.

Instead of immediately ensuring medical care and justice, police allegedly took Roshan Khatoon and her husband to the Police station while she was critically injured and demanded ₹50,000 for their release. The family says they were eventually released after 5–6 hours after paying ₹4,000.

Nineteen people have been named in the FIR. Yet, nearly a month later, only one arrest has been made.

Her family alleges that the accused are being shielded due to political backing from BJP and JDU leaders. Meanwhile, even after weeks, the postmortem report has still not been released.

A woman was lynched, humiliated in the most inhuman way, and a month later, justice remains nowhere in sight.

Hi @ECISVEEP @CEO_Maharashtra, following is my experience at the Voting booth today:

Constituency: 165, Booth 70, Room 15 (Andheri Girls Education society)

1. Someone else had already voted against my name (I went at 12:30pm) - this was after confirmation in the SIR.

2. Digilocker shown PAN/Aadhaar was not valid as citizenship proof (they asked for physical copies, even thought IT Act 200 mandates Digilocker issued documents at par with Physical documents)

3. Went home, got passport - again invalid as "passport" is valid only for NRIs as a proof.

4. No one responds on 1950 voter helpline

5. Went back home without voting after trying to see if there was some logic that can be reasons with the polling officer.

All blame was squarely put on "3-days of training"

Not sure who can be held accountable for a citizen not being able to vote today.
