I am excited to announce that I have joined the Dept. of Political Economy at King’s College London. I am sad to leave Northwestern and will miss my colleagues whom I admire and have grown fond of but I am looking forward to being part of DPE and its wonderful group of theorists.
I cannot think of a professor who has deserved it more! Congratulations! Loubna is insanely insightful and kind. I cannot imagine where my phd would be without her. If you haven't read her work - you must!
While recognizing that personal news can be indulgent in these dark times, I wanted to share that I got tenure after many years, three kids, one pandemic, and an exciting intellectual journey that took me to ancient China.

Aircraft towing trucks, often called "tugs" or "tow tractors," are specialized vehicles used to move planes on the ground.
They attach to the aircraft's nose or landing gear and maneuver it around airports, hangars, or tarmacs.
These trucks play a crucial role in the logistics and maintenance operations of aviation.
Honored to receive the Doris Garber Award for best graduate student public opinion paper at this year’s @MidwestMAPOR conference. This organization is truly filled with some of the kindest scholars and mentors!
I am excited that my article is out in Millennium as part of a symposium on @SKhojaMoolji incredible book that, along with @mariarshd and @nosheenali's work, shift how we should think-feel the state. Their work is incredible and I am so honored to be in conversation with them.

@akkhan81 @chebhocine There is this essay from 1908 by Syed Ameer Ali - Anomalies of Civilization. I can send the pdf if you're interested. It's short, shows how obvious it all is, i.e. Orientalism. I always want to write something about it but never know what. Just think people should read it.
