SENATE NOW NEEDS TO ASKS COURT EVERY TIME IT NEEDS GUO FOR HEARING:
Sen. Risa Hontiveros writes PNP, Tarlac RTC to seek permission to let dismissed Mayor Alice Guo to attend Monday's hearing.
This after the Tarlac RTC has gained custody of the former mayor due to an arrest warrant it issued for violation of anti-graft laws filed by the DILG.
Senate would have gained custody of Guo sans the case because it had issued an arrest warrant against the former mayor for not attending the hearings.
Hontiveros now asks if the filing of the DILG of the cases is a strategy:
“Sandiganbayan ang dapat may hawak sa graft and corruption charges laban sa high-ranking officials gaya ni Mayor Guo. Did the DILG file a deliberately watered-down case to wrest custody of the fugitive? Bakit?”, she says. @gmanews@24OrasGMA
@Joseph_Morong Something fishy.
Perhaps Sen. @risahontiveros is right that there are really gov't officials who may be involved & benefiting with Alice Guo wrong doings and now they are trying to prevent to divulge their names and participation.
Smell #Connivance with the executive branch.
🇵🇭🇨🇳 BREAKING: CHINA ATTACKS PHILIPPINES' SHIP IN DISPUTED WATERS
The Philippines reported that the Chinese Coast Guard was responsible for an attack that lasted an hour this morning.
China Coast Guard spokesman Gan Yu:
"We sternly warn the Philippine side: those who play with fire will bring shame on themselves.
The Chinese Coast Guard is ready at all times to resolutely safeguard our country's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests."
Concerns are being raised given a treaty that requires the United States to defend the Philippines in the event of a military attack.
