The water of the Turag River seem to be stained with the blood of Awami League activists.
Last year, Chhatra League leader Momin was killed, and his body was allegedly dumped in the Turag River.The brutality that began last year continues to this day.This time, Ariful, Biplob, and Suman were allegedly murdered, and their bodies were dumped in the Turag River. Four more activists remain missing.

On 23 June 2026, marking the founding anniversary of the Awami League, several Chhatra League leaders and activists held a peaceful rally and human chain. According to the allegation, seven activists were abducted from that procession by BNP–Jamaat supporters. Among them, the bodies of three were later recovered from the Turag River near Dhaka, while the remaining four are still missing.
