@somewhiskybloke@TheWhiskyWire Hi @somewhiskybloke. It’s historically a wine term I believe that implied quality and age. It’s widely used in whisky (and rum) where there is no statement to indicate there is ageing despite no number on the bottle.

A wonderfully warm palate with Bourbony vanilla and watermelon, it's malty and rich with spices, including ginger. The finish is warm and full of spice, wrapped with ginger. Beautifully balanced, I need a bottle of this! #TheDalmore
Loads of reference to texture, love it! Tannin can give a whisky a velvet, silkiness if natured properly. Here the cab sauv barriques really shine! #TheDalmore
