The United States of Israel is striking at the heart of Iran right now. #Ahvaz. They want to decimate its domestic capabilities. Khuzestan produces the vast majority of Iran’s oil and natural gas. This is an ecological crime against humanity. Absolute mania.
President Trump’s threat to destroy civilian infrastructure—like bridges and power plants—is a textbook example of failed coercion
History shows this failed in Vietnam
It will not force Iran into submission
Escalation becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy
Canada is on fire.
Europe is on fire.
The Amazon is on fire.
Cities are breaking heat records.
Rivers are drying up.
Other countries are drowning in floods.
Storms are getting stronger.
Seasons don’t feel like seasons anymore.
And somehow…
climate change is still a debate.
🎥 Crisis Group’s Ali Vaez asked why Iran would “sacrifice” a supposedly generous U.S. deal over control of the Strait of Hormuz, including a southern corridor handling at best 20% of traffic. Vali Nasr rejected the premise, arguing Tehran concluded early that Washington never intended to honor the MOU and was using it to catch its breath before another war.
Nasr said Iran had expected another Israeli/U.S. round by October. Instead, it came much sooner. He identified four signals that convinced Tehran the MOU was never going to be implemented:
1️⃣ No money arrived. No frozen Iranian funds were released. Nasr said one person told him that if chief negotiator Qalibaf had returned from Doha with even $1 billion, “the conversation in Iran would have been very different.” Two months of oil waivers do little to change Iran’s economic position.
2️⃣ Lebanon showed Tehran the U.S. would not honor what it signed. Nasr said Washington agreed to provisions on Lebanon in the MOU, then almost immediately helped create conditions for Israel to operate there with the Lebanese government’s approval, effectively stripping Iran of leverage.
3️⃣ The U.S. began rebuilding for war immediately after signing. Military assets poured into the region in a pattern Tehran recognized from the buildup before February. Nasr said the rhetoric around diplomacy was simply not matched by what Iran was seeing militarily.
4️⃣ Washington began “whittling down” Iran’s control of Hormuz. Nasr stressed two separate moves: the U.S. encouraged tankers not to coordinate with Iran at all, then pushed them toward the southern channel. Iran drew the line. Washington responded with a massive escalation, targeting missile and drone batteries in an effort to take control of the strait out of its hands.
🔸Vali Nasr’s key point: Iran does not see this as a choice between economic benefits and Hormuz. In Tehran’s view, there were no economic benefits to “sacrifice” because Washington was never going to deliver them. And without control of Hormuz, Iran believes it has no leverage to force the U.S. to implement any future deal.
As Nasr put it, control of the strait gives Iran a “sword of Damocles over the head of the global economy” that Tehran sees as “essential” to getting anything from Washington.

Sacrifice?? What the fuck are you talking about??
They did not willingly sacrifice themselves.
They were killed because of the war you, Trump, and the admin, are waging on behalf of a FOREIGN COUNTRY, Israel.
You mean their deaths fuel your bloodlust for a senseless war.

Images show damage to the Bunjay desalination plant near Jask following U.S. strikes. The attack has cut off water supplies to 20 villages, leaving around 10,000 people without water, according to Iranian reports.

THIS IS NOT FAKE. THIS IS REAL.
Canada is burning. Europe is on fire. New York's sky is smoke. The oceans are boiling. The heat is lethal.
If you are still denying climate change you are denying the Earth a future.
It's four and a half months since the Minab school bombing.
We've been investigating.
Experts told us all the evidence points to US responsibility, and a Pentagon source told us their investigation blames "human error".
Our findings show the scale of the intelligence failure.
This is how Trump help looks like... Just days ago he had this beautiful smile. Last night, in the US strike on Bandar Abbas, he lost his mother forever… and his hand. His whole world is shattered 💔
To the Americans blaming Canada for smoke linked to global climate change, we in turn ask you to keep your exploding tick-borne diseases, your MAGA politics, your anti-vaxx hysteria and your illegal guns from infiltrating our nation. Sincerely, Canada

I live in Northwestern Ontario. Right now, the Boreal forest is burning.
I'm writing this beneath the dark orange plume from the Quetico wildfires.
These are some of the reports coming out as communities fight to survive:
"No fire crews left for new fires."
"We had no warning."
Families are self-evacuating by private boat across lakes because they didn't receive evacuation information. They're fleeing towering flames with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
This is unacceptable in a province as wealthy as Ontario.
I'm calling out Doug Ford. His government has underfunded Ontario's wildfire management capacity by tens of millions of dollars.
@fordnation you want our Ring of Fire, our water, our forests. You want to store nuclear waste in our bedrock and run an oil pipeline through our watersheds.
But you won't work with northern communities. You make decisions for us without us, and then fail to provide the basic public services we PAY FOR and rely on: wildfire protection, health care, education, safe highways and social services.
Northern Ontario deserves better than this feckless leadership.
