🚨 In 1992, a MIT lecture quietly revealed more about product and sales than most 2-year MBAs ever will.

Most people have never seen it.

It came from Steve Jobs and instead of teaching theory, he broke down how great products actually win.

Watching it today feels unreal.

He explained that people don’t buy products they buy meaning. The best products aren’t just functional, they connect with how people see themselves. That’s why some ideas spread effortlessly while others die, even if they’re technically better.

He also made it clear that marketing isn’t about features. It’s about clarity. If you can’t explain why your product matters in simple terms, it won’t matter at all. Complexity doesn’t impress it confuses.

And his biggest edge? Obsession with experience. Not just what the product does, but how it feels. The small details, the simplicity, the story that’s what separates good from unforgettable.

That’s why this MIT lecture still hits hard.

Because while most people are building products…

If you understand this, you would not worry about new highs.

Sensex is a basket of 30 companies. Each company has yearly earnings. Likewise Sensex also has yearly earnings.

Sensex earnings for the financial year 2004 (10 years ago) was Rs.348. For this financial year, ending this month (March 2014), the earnings are expected to be Rs.1326.

Sensex is nothing but representation of how many times (called as PE multiple) the earnings are currently valued at.

Assuming a multiple of 18, Sensex should have been at 6264 10 years ago and at 23868 now.

Please understand this. It’s very important for you to understand markets as an investor.

6264 of 2004 = 23868 of 2014

So there is no need to get panicked if market scale new highs.

Market will always continue to scale new highs.

From the base of 100, to current level of 22000, market should have made 21,900 highs! (Like counting 101, 102, till 22000). Considering the closing levels of market each day for last 34 years, someone has mentioned in Twitter that there have been 660 new highs during the last 34 years journey of Sensex.

So Sensex running into lakhs and even Nifty in lakhs is going to happen in the years and decades to come. This will keep happening as long as India and corporate India are going to grow, which would be the multi decadal story.

So don't get scared of heights. Markets scaling many new highs is going to be very normal in your life time.

If you understand this, fear of highs would automatically go away.
