This two block section of my commute has always pissed me off. Residents know the road is tight and often park on the curb to lower the chance of getting hit. Last night’s commute I found myself playing chicken with a fire truck. #bikedenver
@PatheticPutter Steve, it’s a multi-use sidewalk connecting downtown to the Highlands. Now shut up and fuck off if you have no idea what you are talking about. Thanks.
@NoSquish@Rockies I’ve ridden through this closure numerous times commuting after work & never ever have I had the cops stationed at the closure at 21st & Market or 20th & Blake stop me and tell me I couldn’t go through. Only once has an official Rockies employee yelled that I couldn’t ride.
I’ve seen this often lately where The Fiit Co puts up an official looking “bike lane closed” sign in the Market Street bike lane. I want to believe @DenverDOTI gave them permission, but it seems kind of out of place for this to happen.
Alright, @BikeDenver do your thing. Fiit Co is back at it. @DenverDOTI said they would prevent this from happening again, but here it is. They are blocking the bike lane so they can have classes in the bike lane.
@JeffcoColorado For years Simms has been a death trap for cyclists trying to commute north and south quickly trying to avoid going too far east to use the 36th bikeway. Let’s hope the rendering is wrong and they add a bike lane or at least a much wider shoulder than one that currently exists.
Welp. I was optimistically hopeful that 35th would be relatively ice free this morning. It wasn’t. East of Sheridan, 32nd has ice free ruts a cyclist can use.
@BikeDenver5280@DenBicycleLobby Bryan. We are on the same team you POS. Stop with the petty nonsense. Can we just advocate for safe streets so people can commute safely? Thanks. And yes, a few thousand.
@BikeDenver5280@BikeDenver@DenBicycleLobby@DenverDOTI Bryan, we know this is you. From my experience, nothing happens filling out those online service requests. All I get is an email in three weeks saying they sent out an inspector and didn’t see a problem. A few thousand views on a tweet seems to get way more attention from DOTI.
If you drive down one of the handful of neighborhood bikeways in Denver, please put your phone down and pull the fuck over and not aim directly at me. Thanks.
