“Dad! why don’t you do it?” - the words Levi said to me just over a year ago because his previous coach could no longer attend the U7s matches due to other commitments.

Having never really thought about volunteering before, I asked him if he’d like that. “YES” he said.

Fast forward a year and I have just finished my first season as Levi’s teams coach.

Here’s my thoughts….

1. I hate loosing 😂 but I can understand the value…. Losing to one team and seeing the children disappointed definitely helped when we beat the same team 3-0 in the return fixture. We learned so much more. Anything is possible.

2. Children Learn so much better and faster in a fun environment. - Keep it fun !

3. It’s not about the results at this age it’s about enjoying football, making friends and progressing. - For both children and the parents.

4. Memories - Watching Levi and his team mates improve throughout the season and even giving us some prime Barcelona moments I will never forget 🤣

5. Greggs after home games is now a habit😅

6. Coaching Levi’s team is definitely one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done.

I urge anyone that’s thinking about volunteering to crack on and do it. You will not regret it.
