Did you know one of the reasons "To Catch a Predator" ended was that a Texas prosecutor shot himself after being caught in one of Chris Hansen investigations?

In November 2006, the show set up a sting in Murphy, Texas, where volunteers posed online as children and police arrested the men who came to meet them.

Bill Conradt, a 56-year-old senior prosecutor, was one of the targets. He had spent days exchanging sexual messages with what he thought was a 13-year-old boy.

But unlike the others, he never showed up at the sting house.

So on a Sunday afternoon, a SWAT team drove to his home with the Dateline crew behind them.

As television cameras recorded the raid outside, officers forced their way into the home.

They found Conradt in the hallway with a gun. He told them he was not going to hurt anyone. Then he shot himself. He died in hospital an hour later.

Years later, Chris Hansen was asked if he felt responsible. He said no.
