As a future healthcare provider, I will use my knowledge on nutrition to benefit my patients in any way I can and not base their health problems on their weight. @beh353#beh353
Thank you @EmmaDArpinoRD for your discussion. You mentioned so many different things that I did not know correctly. The first thing that comes to mind is the food addiction is not actually addiction. I think social media can portray it in a different light. @beh353#beh353
@suzaine_thomas @beh353 So true! In Samantha Bee’s video doctors did not give the correct tests for a patient because they blamed her weight and she ended up having cancer. @beh353#beh353
Everyone--please read this info about chemicals in food that disrupt hormones and can contribute to weight gain: https://t.co/NllLTukDoI Weight loss is complex and not as simple as "eat less and exercise more." @ConscienHealth#EDCs#obesity
Samantha Bee’s video showed the importance of understanding the perspective of patients who are overweight. Doctors are known to blame any patient’s problems on their weight. This causes the patient to not receive the correct tests. @beh353#beh353
@suzaine_thomas @beh353 The media has a lot of power when it comes to fat shaming. I wonder how people with these genetic problems handle it and what they do to help it. @beh353#beh353
I enjoyed James Corden’s video, I thought he put it in a great way. One thing I learned is how sleep can impact obesity. I knew it could effect it in some ways but not as much as it actually does. @beh353#beh353
@USDANutrition This is a great article! We learned that adding fruits and vegetables to our meals makes a better balanced diet, but now prevents chronic diseases. #beh353@beh353
One of the barriers I relate to is the expected consumption of unhealthy foods in certain situations. I think a lot of us can relate to this especially coming close to the holidays. Family and friends just expect you to drink, eat lots of food, and desserts. @beh353#beh353
This is a label for apple cider vinegar gummies. This is a type of dietary supplement that is SUPPOSE to help with gut help and losing weight, not too sure about that. I am surprised to see vitamin B12. @beh353#beh353
This is definitely a high quality article. This account shares a lot of useful information about nutrition that is both interesting and backed up my scientific research. @beh353#beh353
