thank you @EmmaDArpinoRD for your lecture this week! one thing i never thought about was what happens to the fresh out of season produce to transport it. defs will not be afraid to buy frozen! @beh353#beh353
Vegetables are important sources of many nutrients, including potassium, dietary fiber, folate, vitamin A, and vitamin C. Learn more about the importance of vegetables with @MyPlate! https://t.co/tKlU5yZijU
i would recommend this article for children. it is easy to read and is interactive! the author explains what is healthy, and then asks kids to write down what they eat to see if they’re incorporating “colorful” foods! https://t.co/CgFD0HWSF2 @beh353#beh353
the thing that stuck out to me the most was Corissa’s doctor enabling her eating disorder just because she was obese. as a PA i will make sure no matter who u are, ur disorder will be taken seriously @beh353#beh353
this article was interesting to read. as aspiring medical professionals it is important to understand what language makes our patients feel more comfortable/ more inclined to seek medical attention! @beh353#beh353
fat shaming an individual is not the way to fix the obesity epidemic. education and availability of healthy foods is a step in the right direction, but shaming only pushes backwards. @beh353#beh353
@Doheon15@beh353 i agree. often when i get my coffee in the morning i try to find healthy food options, but coffee shops lack that option. @beh353#beh353
the barrier i relate most to is lack of time to prepare meals. being a full time student as well as working, exercising and finding social time, i do not prepare meals as often as i’d prefer/
should. @beh353#beh353
i always hear about people jumping to take vitamin c as soon as they feel they’re getting sick. after this weeks lesson, it seems to just be a myth. @beh353#beh353
