@CFIB Why are we not demanding instead of politely asking? @CFIB why not show how serious we are about saving small businesses and protest? Petitions and letters are clearly not working. We need to stop being so polite.
Another Ontario small business owner shared his note to the Deputy PM re #CEBA: "The 18-day extension for the CEBA loan repayment feels like another blow to Canadians who have dedicated themselves to this country. We, as small business owners, feel overlooked and undervalued, especially given the contrasting treatment observed in Parliament. The financial strain is escalating, with institutions offering high-interest loans, ultimately leading to us repaying significantly more. This situation does not align with the principles of a fair and just Canada.
I implore you and your government to reconsider the terms of the CEBA loan and to increase the forgivable portion. Small businesses are the backbone of our communities, and their failure will have long-lasting repercussions on our economy and society. While the past cannot be changed, there is still an opportunity to shape the present and the future. Please, give small businesses a fighting chance to survive and thrive. Our communities depend on it, and the prosperity of Canada is at stake. I appreciate your attention to these pressing matters and look forward to your response and action."
@AirCanada on hold for over an hour to make flight changes and upgrade, call drops 6 minutes into call and i get no call back. What now? For these prices you need to do better.
@shannoncrane We are calling on govt for major changes (read the full string I posted for more). Also, check out CFIB's #CEBA petition: https://t.co/NEjEBlkEPk
hey @RBC why isn't there an online option to report fraud business CC charges or a direct line for this. I have been on hold forEVER to the point where I will just give up again. Why is it so hard to talk to a person??
It is deeply worrisome that only 13% of small business owners have repaid their #CEBA loans. CFIB is grateful to NDP Finance Critic @Daniel_Blaikie for his support of our call to extend the loan repayment deadline by 1 year. https://t.co/TyOuieRbhX
Today is the day the federal govt ends all major COVID support programs for small business (but one can still apply for past periods). Only 40% of small firms are back to normal levels of sales. Debt relief (like 50%+ forgiveness of CEBA loans) would be a big help.
If we want to bring the country back together, we need to find a pathway to allow people to question all the COVID restrictions, without lumping them into the lunatic fringe.
