We are deeply concerned by reports of an assassination attempt on Malam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai, alongside allegations that he is being denied proper medical care and basic human treatment while in custody.

We hold the Kaduna State Government, the Kaduna State High Court, and the ICPC leadership responsible for any harm that comes to him.

We demand the immediate release of Malam Nasir El-Rufai and full respect for the rule of law.

Nigerians and human rights groups must not stay silent in the face of this injustice.
