Shri Puneet Yadav, Additional Secretary, DARPG, chaired Session I on the opening day of the National Conference on Good Governance Practices, held on July 17–18, 2025, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The session, titled “Prime Minister’s Awarded Initiatives 2024: Holistic Development of Districts,” spotlighted saturation-based implementation and citizen-centric governance.

In his opening remarks, Shri Yadav emphasised the significance of the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration, highlighting their role in recognising outstanding governance practices. He provided an overview of key award categories such as Holistic Development of Districts, Innovation, and the Aspirational Blocks Programme, which align with the effective delivery of 11 flagship government schemes aimed at inclusive and impactful development.

Underlining the key features of the Award, Additional Secretary said, the emphasis has been on good governance, qualitative achievement and last mile connectivity, rather than only on achievement of quantitative targets. He further said, the applications for Awards are evaluated on three parameters: Good Governance, Qualitative and Quantitative.

He called upon all participants attending the National Conference from across the country to participate enthusiastically in the Awards.
