@Camp4 Thanks for writing this. I think often about this quote (I think by Diane Sawyer) - A great marriage thrives as a contest of generosity.
Also true - if in a marriage you don’t feel like you are carrying 80% of the load, you are probably doing less than 50%.
@gregcello Thank you @gregcello. This really spoke to me and laid it out in a manner that is difficult to hide from. Behavioral patterns repeated over generations. Time to break them.
@p_millerd I know you are half joking, but if AGI pans out essentially the pathless path becomes the default. @AnthropicAI come get your guy while he’s still a free agent.
@p_millerd@1_00_proof Ha. Same and it continues. What really helped was watching Bluey. Bandit’s attitude is a life goal. The fortune cookie saying in the episode “Takeaway” is a mantra I keep repeating whenever I feel the kids get to me.
@tomowenmorgan Maybe that simply is not your path, at least not at this moment. And it might not have anything to do with the particular path or with you. It just isn’t.
@svembu Prof RKK was cognizant of these issues more than 25 years ago when he moved away from - promising “research” focus to building computing systems in local languages (with limited resources). He talks about his philosophy here.
