A serial dog abuser who once appeared on Jeremy Kyle after he rammed an umbrella down a terrified dog's throat has attacked more dogs, leaving one dead and another injured.
Serial dog abuser DAVID POGMORE, 35, from Warsop viciously assaulted two pugs, leaving one dead and the other severely injured.
In September 2012, Pogmore was sent to prison for four months and banned from keeping animals for 15 years after attacking a sprnger spaniel called Ruby.
The court heard how he pushed an umbrella into the terrified dog's throat and pinned her to the floor with a walking stick.
She suffered a swollen, bloodshot eye, bruising around the head, a cut to back of the head and bleeding from a cut to the back of the throat.
In November 2016 Pogmore appeared on The Jeremy Kyle Show puportedly to find out the results of a paternity test.
Jeremy then confronted Pogmore after unexptectedly revealing details of his animal cruelty conviction to the audience.
Pogmore stormed off the show amid a sea of boos, with the episode making the national newspapers the next day.
This month, Pogmore was back before the courts to answer further charges of animal cruelty as well as a breach of his 15-year ban.
While details of the case haven't yet made the press, we understand that it related to pugs Bernie and Betsy, both owned by a woman known to Pogmore.
The owner took to FB and wrote:
"Two years ago, on two separate occasions, this evil bastard abused and seriously injured my Pug dogs.
"My baby boy Bernie never recovered. He kicked him so hard that it caused devastating injuries to his spine and brain. Sadly, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to have him put to sleep.
"On a separate occasion, he attacked my girl Betsy. He pulled her femur, threw her into a table, badly bruised her head, caused bleeding in her eye, and kicked her twice. She had to undergo surgery and have a metal rod fitted in her leg to hold it together. The damage he caused has changed her life forever.
"Betsy is now incontinent, frightened of most men, suffers with PTSD, is terrified of loud noises, and often cries in her sleep.
"Today was the sentencing hearing.
"He was sentenced to 2 years and 2 months in prison, which he will serve in full, and he has been banned from owning or being around animals again."
That Questionable Shep from the #Essex kennels decided it's too hot to do proper pruning so he found a low branch and sat down on the job ๐

Please retweet, tomorrow, across the UK, dogs will be put to sleep by council pounds because rescue shelters are full.
No figures will be released about these dogs, no one will know they existed.
Councils are still issuing new licences to breed.
Please adopt if you can.
๐ฉท NOT EVERY POLICE DOG STORY IS THE SAME ๐ฉท
When people think of police dogs, they often imagine fearless crime fighters chasing suspects and tracking offenders.
Suzieโs story is a little different.
She trained as a General Purpose Police Dog and spent time with several police forces, but it eventually became clear that police work wasnโt where she would be happiest.
She was a little too soft-hearted, a little too stubborn and much better suited to family life.
And thatโs perfectly okay.
Today, Suzie has found her perfect role:
๐ Professional ball chaser
๐ Expert cuddler
๐ Squirrel spotter
๐ TV companion
๐ Full-time family member
Success doesnโt always look the way we expect.
Sometimes itโs about finding exactly where you belong.
And we think Suzie has done just that. ๐ฉท๐พ

She sat by the door all day and night waiting for her family to come back. Loyal and frightened, she waited and waited.
Local dog lovers brought Bluebell to our rescue when the dog warden couldn't collect her, being the weekend. She hasn't had any training and not much experience of life, but to see her melt into Tracy's arms tells you everything about her sweet nature.
We will never stop helping these poor dogs, the most misunderstood and the most likely to get euthanised if they end up in a council pound.

ALL THOSE THAT TAKE ON THEIR COUNTRIES CULTURAL BIASES AGAINST ANIMALS SEEN AS "FOOD" ARE HEROES TO THESE SPECIES.
And in China, it is a retired teacher who spent her life savings rescuing dogs and cats from slaughter because of the meat eaters there ~ Yang Xiaoyun from Tianjin, China.
She has become widely known for traveling more than 1,500 miles to the Yulin dog meat festival... where she used her own money to purchase dogs directly from traders and slaughterhouses that profit from selling their flesh to meat eaters.... and on some rescue trips, she saved nearly 400 dogs at a time, giving them a second chance at life...over the years.
She used over $24,000 of her saved money for her retirement and has now started a sanctuary called Common Home for All in Tianjin, where hundreds of rescued dogs and cats could be safe ~ the shelter has housed around 1,500 dogs and 200 cats at different times.
Yang reportedly sold two of her homes and faced strained relationships with family members who worried about the financial burden....yet she continues her mission, driven by the belief that every animal deserved a chance to live.
Thank you ๐.
๐พ MEET RETIRED POLICE DOG SUZIE ๐พ
At just 4 years old, Suzieโs journey has been a little different from many retired police dogs.
Born into West Midlands Police, Suzieโs career took her through several forces before eventually joining Avon and Somerset Police, where she trained as a General Purpose Police Dog.
Her new owners had always planned to rescue a dog. After learning more about retired police dogs through conversations with members of the police dog team, they let it be known that if a dog ever needed a home and couldnโt stay with their handler, they would love to be considered.
Less than two weeks later, a message arrived.
It wasnโt quite the retired police dog they had expected.
Instead, it was a two-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd called Suzie.
Suzie had shown great promise, but it was eventually decided that she was simply too soft-hearted (and perhaps a little too stubborn! ๐) for police work. She was far better suited to life as a family pet.
When they met Suzie for the first time they instantly knew she was something special.
After retiring at just two and a half years old, Suzie has spent the last year and a half enjoying the things she loves most: long walks, endless ball throws, sofa cuddles and plenty of naps.
Sometimes life takes us on a different path than expected, and for Suzie, it turned out to be exactly the right one. ๐ฉท๐พ

At Shelbourne Park track on 6 December 2025, a greyhound was killed by a vet after suffering a fractured right hock. Was it 2-year-old Bushpark Rodney who "did not finish" a race there that day and has not been used in racing since? Don't go greyhound racing. #BanGreyhoundRacing
Day three of the worst June heat wave in history & the dogs at MBR beagle breeding facility in Cambridgeshire are locked in steel cages in 38 degree centigrade disgusting cruelty
Remember Little Annie who came to us a tangle of fur? We had interest in her immediately & moved her to foster to continue assessments & complete vaccinations. Her humans have now officially #adopted her.
She has truly landed on her paws with the most fantastic home! ๐
