President @KagutaMuseveni today joined the people of @ObukamaBwaTooro to celebrate the coronation of Omukama Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I at Karuziika Royal Palace.
I call upon our cultural leaders to thoroughly address the institution of marriage and promote responsible family life. We must go back to our traditional ways of conducting marriages, which provided clarity and helped maintain social order.
We are facing serious challenges, including the prevalence of HIV in this part of the country and Western Uganda. Karamoja, on the other hand, has maintained strong cultural practices around marriage and has a lower prevalence.
We must also guard our language, culture and indigenous science jealously. Our local knowledge is disappearing. I have personally insisted on preserving the Ankole long horned cattle, despite discouragement from some modern veterinary scientists. I sold some to President Ramaphosa, and now South Africans claim they are theirs!
We must preserve our indigenous science, crafts, cultural practices and heritage. These are important for our identity and our survival.
@MwesigyeFranks@HonTwallafadil@Plumedia1@AndrewMwenda Frank, it’s quite contradictory to accuse Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo of creating confusion while attacking her for doing her work as Head of ONC-NRM. If “Tuko Pamoja” truly means we are together, then let’s respect different mandates without resorting to personal attacks.
Hajjat Namyalo supporting President Museveni does not mean she is fighting Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba. She occupies an office that requires her to stand with and support the President. In my view, there is no enmity here—just people serving in their respective roles.
Bwana Fadil, why the panic?
Hadijah Namyalo is not fighting the PLU. As Manager of the @Onc_nrm1, she is executing her responsibilities and advancing the interests of the NRM National Chairman, President Yoweri @KagutaMuseveni.
So why is it acceptable for PLU to mobilise and endorse Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, but suddenly problematic when others express their support for President Museveni?
Let everyone exercise their political rights and express their views without intimidation, provocation or personal attacks.
If PLU can organise, consult and express its aspirations, others should equally be allowed to organise, consult and express theirs.

@HonTwallafadil@mkainerugaba Hon. Twalla, if mobilisation and endorsement of PLU are accepted, why question mobilisation for Museveni? Hajjat Namyalo has every right to mobilise and endorse Jajja. Has Jajja said he won’t return? No. So why question those mobilising for him? Sevo pakalast! #JajjaKwesiva2031
My view on @PLUsecretariat is simple: let them mobilise, consult and express their political aspirations. That is their space.
But the same freedom must apply to everyone. If PLU can support Gen. Muhoozi @mkainerugaba, others should equally be free to support President Yoweri @KagutaMuseveni without being attacked for it.
We can disagree politically without turning every difference into a personal fight. Let ONC-PLU do its work, let ONC-NRM do its work, and let Ugandans make their own political choices.

ONC Coordinator for Madi Okollo District, Afidraa Kennedy, monitored Buzu Foundation PS in Offaka Sub-county & physically verified 743 learners (367 boys & 376 girls) P1–P7, He observed, inadequate staff facilities, no staff toilets, & cracked classroom blocks #JajjaKwesiva2031
Today, I received Amb. Takahashi Misako, the assistant Minister for African Affairs, and her delegation from Japan. I thank the Japanese Government for the support it has given Uganda over the years, including the Kampala Flyover, the cable stayed bridge in Jinja and many other infrastructure projects.
I told them that we want to acquire road equipment directly through the Japanese Government, without middlemen. Every urban centre should have its own equipment instead of sharing with the whole district.
I also welcome more Japanese companies to invest in Uganda. Our aim is global affluence, everybody to be rich. When Uganda and Japan prosper together, everybody benefits.
Quality learning starts with a safe and supportive school environment. ONC Coordinator for Mubende District monitored Kisindi P/S, recording 291 learners in attendance out of 422 enrolled, with 11 teachers. Six classrooms and the latrine need renovation. #JajjaKwesiva2031
