@EthicsEnergy It was brilliant! Such a great group - busy making poems as objects-to-think-with, and as tools for change. We might have to do more...! ➰

Culture Funding Crisis, Scotland:
This goes some way to show the level of stress Creative Scotland’s decision to close Open Project Funding for Individuals caused. Six months of work crammed into eleven days.
Now being paid for in burn out, by people who can’t afford to rest.
An update from Scotland's Culture Minister on our Government's plans for a review of the infrastructure of grant giving in the arts along with an announcement of the reinstatement of short-term funding support.
Coming up, 10 Oct at @ByLeavesWeLive - a poetry workshop exploring loops & cycles, how to support or disrupt them. In partnership with SPL, @EthicsEnergy & @StAModLangs Centre for Poetic Innovation.

🚨 Exclusive: Screen stars Alan Cumming & Sam Heughan are demanding a rethink on Scottish Government cuts which have led to the shutdown of Creative Scotland’s key fund for artists, describing its demise as “devastating” & “really tragic.” 🚨

Just like that, the @creativescots Open Fund for Individuals is closed indefinitely and marginalised artists lose a major lifeline. Good time to bring back this quote from Carrie Hope Fletcher: "If you don’t think this is important then you shouldn’t be allowed to enjoy it."
And if anyone is tracking the economy of working this way - that was 3 full days and evenings of unpaid work I had planned to spread out more economically over 3 months.
Day 4: submitted. Reflecting on how much freelancing flattens you, even when you have other (really nice) work on the horizon I'm aware it's only getting a fraction of my best. We're all pouring from empty cups. #NoArtWithoutArtists@CreativeScots@scotgov
