Battalion Wars 2 (frontline recomp) now has a stable native build for Apple Silicon Macs and fully playable (no online, tho).
No emulator: the Wii's PowerPC code is recompiled ahead of time to C++. Repo is public 👇

What's new since the first clips: fixed Wii strap screens and the title
planet (two bugs in the GX layer), invisible walls near allies gone (a
translator bug), and a full controls menu: rebind the emulated Wii Remote +
Nunchuk, or just plug in a controller.

Frontline recomp/Battalion wars 2 recomp for MAC is now playable without camera or control glitches. It’s a dream seeing my favorite childhood game running on modern PCs.

Next to be improved: controls suitable for PC, resolution (still Wii resolution.

Update on Battalion Wars 2 Recomp (Frontline recomp).

It now renders 3D graphics and the first mission is fully playable. There are some graphics and camera glitches that need to be solved.

The whole process is being documented in a git repo to use for other recomp projects.

I started my Batallion Wars 2 recompilation project! Based on WiiCompiled and MH3 recompilations I was able to get this first version running on MacOS.

I will try getting a fully playable version today and upload it to GitHub.

- Took me around 2 hours to understand how to set it up
- I flashed a simple C program that sends a message back to the PC and modify the LED
