Anyone who told Palestinians that Mamdani was going to deliver for our movement, especially anyone who peddled the fantasy that he was going to arrest Netanyahu, has no business lecturing us about political strategy.
They weren’t simply mistaken. They were told, repeatedly, why their analysis was wrong, and many of them attacked the people saying so as cynical “purity testers.”
Now they get to call themselves hopeful optimists while we’re treated as unreasonable for having correctly assessed the limits of a politician’s promises.
At a certain point, “naivety” stops being an excuse. If you ignored every warning, dismissed every criticism and sold people promises that were never going to materialize, either you were being deliberately disingenuous or your political instincts are terrible.
Neither qualifies you to lecture the people who saw it coming.
Hiding a fire extinguisher is a hilariously bad idea. And someone thinking it’s a great design perfectly encapsulates the mindset of most Apple cultists when it comes to anything Apple does
