Many people have spent their life savings and put themselves in lifetime debt to get housing (flats) from a housing project run by Jaah Investment Pvt Ltd & HDC.

Due to HDC failure in taking action against Jaah (developer), some people have suffered heavy losses. After 8 years, finally HDC took the project but denied any liability for the apparent loss they caused buyers due to their delay in taking action.

A few days ago, buyers got an email stating, "We are pleased to inform you that your flat will be ready to hand over starting from 6th Nov 2025." On 9th November, we went to see the building, and this is what we saw. Promised amenities were nowhere near complete; the 12th and 2nd floors are just concrete slabs, and you can see the condition of the flat.

One of the most severe injustices is that after all this, the government considers us ineligible for housing simply because there is a document in writing promising us a flat. Is this what the people deserve?

Not an HDC project? Could you please clarify why there is a detailed project agreement between HDC and the developer stating that the "FLATS ARE SOLD ON BEHALF OF HDC"

Is HDC not responsible for overseeing the projects and ensuring their timely completion?

Why does the contract have clauses that allow HDC to take actions in case of delay or default by the developer? Why didn't HDC take action timely? Failure to take action was the sole cause of failure and delay of these projects, and therefore HDC is liable to compensate for loss suffered by people.

FYI: HDC is a government company solely made for the purpose of ensuring housing for the people. They cannot do whatever they deem fit with the lands entrusted to them to provide housing.

The people who booked the apartment are disqualified from other government housing projects just because they booked the apartment under the housing projects run by HDC. Is this fair?
