I have never seen an animal commit suicide.
I find it interesting that animals, especially apex predators, don't appear to conceptualize “hopelessness” the way humans do.
Even at the brink of death, they fight, bite, claw, and persist without turning their suffering into despair.
The ability to quickly reset and recover. From a bad interaction. From a bad day. From a missed workout. From a poor decision. You can start over whenever you want. You can't always control what happened, but you can control how long you carry it.
We are overstimulated and we don't even notice. Netflix while eating. Reels in the bathroom. Music while cooking. Podcasts on walks. We consume by default, not by intention. You keep filling every gap, then wonder why you feel foggy and unmotivated. Boredom and silence are the real growth drivers. They give you space to think and create. That's when solutions show up for problems that have been stuck for months. Leave some room.
Depression in men is a signal from the blood that you were made to build and conquer and instead you are sitting in a cage someone else designed. The soul knows when the hands have been idle too long. This is ancient scripture written in the nervous system. The cure is not to numb the signal, the cure is to finally bend something to your will again, even something small, even one corner of your kingdom, and watch the fog lift like it was never there at all
