Wow! It‘s amazing what people can achieve together!! 👏🏻
We can still reverse the destruction of our ecosystems, if we act consistently. 🌱🌱🌴
Tree-based agriculture is a good way to replenish #soil, #water & rivers💦

Having successfully facilitated the planting of 93 million trees, transformed the lives of 183,000 farmers, and laid the foundation for ecosystem revival, Cauvery Calling's journey thus far has seen many milestones. Here are key highlights of the project and its impact.
#CauveryCalling, launched by Sadhguru, is the world's largest farmer-driven ecological movement. It aims to revitalize Cauvery River by supporting 5.2 million farmers to plant 2.42 billion trees on private farmlands in the Cauvery basin through tree-based agriculture.

Soil organic matter is the single most important soil property that can be influenced through management practices. #SaveSoil . #HealthySoils can mitigate the effects of drought.
When it rains, it pours – and when it pours, flooding is not far off.
Flooding is one of the extreme weather events on the rise across the world due to the effects of climate change. But a missing link that could help alleviate the dangers of flooding is soil. Healthy soil can absorb a large quantity of rain – up to one and a half Olympic swimming pools per hectare – which not only helps prevent flash floods but also stores the water for drier periods of drought when plants can access the water safely stored underground.

The carbon cycle's connection to soils is fundamental and often underappreciated. Understanding and supporting healthy soils is a critical part of sustainable agriculture and climate action.🌱🌍
#DYK that the carbon cycle starts in soils? ⁉️
The #carbon stored in soil organic matter is crucial to soil health, fertility and ecosystem services, including food production and #ClimateAction

Are you ready to plant clover?
Nitrogen is "fixed" in clovers through a symbiotic relationship with Rhizobium bacteria that infects the plant's roots. The plant provides energy for the bacteria, and bacteria provide the "machinery" necessary to convert atmospheric nitrogen into a form available to plants.
Clover adds about 55–170 kg per hectare (about 50–150 pounds per acre) of nitrogen to the soil and increases the availability of other nutrients for following crops.
Fixing nitrogen and carbon is not only good for soil health but also reduces greenhouse gasses that contribute to climate change.

Discover the Hidden World Beneath Your Feet!
Beneath the surface lies a fascinating universe waiting to be explored. Soil is a vibrant mix of air, water, minerals, organic matter, and a multitude of creatures. It's a bustling hub of life, surpassing any other place on our planet!
Let's turn this into an engaging activity! Parents, venture out into the garden or park with your children and embark on an Earth buddy scavenger hunt. The next time you're outdoors with your little ones, seek out a patch of soil and see if you can spot these treasures of nature. Take photos, tag @cpsavesoil and share your discoveries with us!

Soil extinction is one of the greatest threats humanity faces, No one should live in a world of hunger, violence, strife, & death, which will be inevitable if we let soil die 😔#SaveSoil
Soil is the control center of all life forms on this planet.💚🤎
Are you Soil-literate? The importance of literacy cannot be understated - but it is equally important to make people more literate about the environment, especially about the role the soil plays in our lives. If people are more informed and educated, they can make more conscious choices and better understand the importance of implementing soil policies.

The “food” for Food & Water is rich, healthy soil for which there is no substitute. Long-term food and water security is a Civilizational necessity & and to make it a reality agnostic to geography, conflicts or climate extremes, we must #SaveSoil.

Eventhough our planet is 3/4th water, still the water naturally available for drinking is less than 1%.
A large part of this fresh water is because of our forests. With the current level of soil degradation, we'll not only face food security but also water security. #SaveSoil
Water – The Reservoir of Life
What makes the soil alive? Soil is bustling with activity: growing plant roots, animals small and smaller, all the way to the tiniest microorganisms, unseen by the naked eye. But all this life drinks from the same reservoir of life – the water beneath our feet. This #WorldFoodDay, let us recognize the inseparable link between soil health and water health.

All living things can live without food for some days. Human beings can live without love, joy and celebration. But never can we all live without water! It is time we really act upon and Save water! 💧 #SaveSoil
We wouldn’t let our lives go to waste - so why would we do that to water?
While treating wastewater is important, we also need to remember the largest natural water treatment system - soil. The ground beneath our feet filters all rainwater and stores it where it needs to be - in the soil, nourishing the plant life which sustains us. Increasing organic matter by 1 % can improve the water-holding capacity of soil by as much as 10 percent, significantly reducing the impact of devastating droughts and floods.

A healthy soil is a living ecosystem in which dead organic matter forms the base of a food web consisting of microscopic & larger organisms. These organisms sustain other biological activities of all lives. Soils supply nutrients & water & are home to many organisms #SaveSoil
Soil health and the quality and availability of water are interconnected.
We need both #soil and water to grow 95% of our food so let's do our part to protect them!
