Apparently, this is one of the earliest known photographs of the sacred Kedarnath Dham, taken in 1882.
Couldn’t take my eyes off it.
No roads. No railheads. No helicopters.
Just the abode of Lord Shiva, cradled by the Himalayas
Back then, the yatra demanded time, endurance, & faith. The journey wasn’t incidental; it WAS the pilgrimage.
Today, access is easier. And that’s a good thing because it opens the experience to many more.
But perhaps something still needs preserving?
The ability to slow down & savour the experience of traveling.
Because journeys are about who we become along the way.

200 million Indians battle diseases linked to spitting and tobacco—but change can start small.
These students created a simple, powerful solution:
a pocket spittoon that locks, absorbs, and eliminates smell.
No mess, no stains—just responsibility.
Built by young innovators from underserved communities, this isn’t just a product, it’s a mindset shift.
If they can rethink habits, maybe it’s time we do too.

In Kerala, apparently you can now call a coconut harvester the same way you book a cab.
A uniformed professional arrives on a cycle, equipped, trained, and ready to work.
We often speak about India’s services economy in terms of IT exports or global capability centres.
But we’re digitising even our most traditional, hyper-local services.
There was another detail from this video that stayed with me.
The young man who climbed those trees was from Chhattisgarh.
When I began my career in our Group’s steel business, many of of our associates working in our furnace and foundry shops had come from states like Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, travelling far from home in search of opportunity.
Today, it seems those same aspirations are finding avenues not just in heavy industry, as in the past, but in new-age, tech-enabled services.
People moving, adapting and rising are a powerful economic force.
And also a force for integration.
As long as they’re welcomed by the host states!
7 newly built Airports in Uttar Pradesh are almost shut down due to no passengers & no regular commercial flights, only VIP planes land their
And Modi G inaugurated one more Airport in UP yesterday 😵💫
This village won’t let your car enter—with plastic bottles.
In Lachen, Sikkim, protecting Gurudongmar Lake isn’t a slogan, it’s a rule.
Cars are checked, plastic is banned, and bamboo bottles replace waste.
While India battles pollution, this tiny village proves change is possible—with discipline and community.
From plastic-free tourism to organic farming, Sikkim is leading by example.
The question is—Are we ready to follow?

In Thiruvananthapuram stands the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, where architecture meets astronomy.
On equinoxes, the setting sun aligns precisely with the temple’s structure, appearing through a sequence of windows in timed intervals, an event often described as “Suryasmaranam.”
Built centuries ago, but it reflects a sophisticated understanding of solar movement, geometry and orientation.
Comforting that science and spirituality weren’t separate pursuits. They coexisted, and often reinforced each other.
I’m putting this firmly on my own urgent bucket list: to be there on one of the two equinox days. I missed the spring equinox just this past friday. But I have two chances every year.
Calendar marked.

The tiger is calm and undisturbed, now look at the chaos people create. Such panic can easily trigger a defensive attack by a tiger.
In wildlife zones, animals have the first right of way. give them space.
I must confess that until recently I had never heard of Phool Dei, a spring festival that was celebrated yesterday in the villages of Uttarakhand.
Children gather fresh flowers from the hills and go from house to house placing them on doorsteps, offering a blessing for the household:
“Phool Dei, Chhamma Dei,
Deni Dwar, Bhar Bhakar…” roughly wishing the home prosperity.
In return they receive sweets.
It reminded me a little of Halloween in the U.S., where children go door to door saying “trick or treat.” But what a lovely contrast. Here the children arrive not threatening a prank, or asking first, but giving first. Flowers.
In an age when we speak so much about environmental consciousness, this graceful celebration of spring and nature deserves to be far more widely known.
Just as Holi travelled across India and the world, perhaps Phool Dei should too.
For me, the children of Uttarakhand are my #MondayMotivation
