I dug into @deficom because I wanted to understand what it's actually building not just what it claims to build.

The first thing that caught my attention wasn't a feature.

Over a billion adults worldwide still don't have access to a basic bank account.

But here's the interesting part.

Even people who already have bank accounts still deal with a fragmented financial system.

So it becomes a trade-off:
You want privacy → things get risky.
You want safety → you lose your privacy.

Not exactly a great choice.

And honestly, this is what most beginners don't realize early.
There's no real middle ground.

But recently I came across a project trying to build exactly that missing piece…
