I like to think of the Prospect Park Loop as a sort of transportation version of the Stanford Prison Experiment, in which cyclists finally have the same powers as their tormentors — cars — and behave exactly like them in every way.
What is most surprising to me about the OpenAI unit distance result is that they found it. My experience is less that frontier models can't make insights, so much as that you have to wade through piles of overconfident garbage to find them, largely canceling out the time savings.
@arundsharma I asked for it to look for a script from a video game, it said it does not exist over 3 turns and then I a google search led it to being the first result. I pointed it out and then it said, oh I did not search as I relied on my training data.
