How great is a mobile network with badly maintained backup power that goes down as soon as the power does.. @Telstra we had dozens of fires around Carlisle River last night, and the CFA lost all communication. As a result those fires are out of control.. hopefully no one dies.
@Macquarie what’s an acceptable timeframe for being locked out of all accounts because someone your end can’t update paperwork? 3 weeks and counting.. not a single call, just messages saying ‘we are working on it’. Meanwhile 0 access to $ to feed 900 animals and 5 families! 😡
@stationmum101 This is not surprising.. I’m dairy and soy free currently (feeding a baby with intolerances) and it is truly astounding how clueless some people are. A chef just recently confirmed for me that the tofu salad would be a good choice.. with soy being the main ingredient of tofu! 🤦♀️
@PhilWhitp4 I find it much easier to save them into dry off date groups before we dry them off. Then I use those groups as my basis for ramping their grain down, skipping milking and drafting them. If we combine groups I can then use it to seperate for leadfeed too
@PhilWhitp4@VikingGenetics We finally got to the bottom of the AI tank, so we have Foske daughters due this year still. Only catch is.. I’m sure a few of them will be calving from daughters or granddaughters of Foske sons 😳 they call that line breeding, right? 🫣
@matt_glennen@farmer_nick_au Im a bit worried we will go from spreading fert with the chopper last week to starting to feed out in another couple of weeks with the tap turning off.. all while the outpad is still too wet to get on to cut 4ft rank ‘silage’ 🤦♀️
@matt_glennen@KelvinMatthew13 What we should’ve done is pull back on the N last round of fert, or held it off for a couple of weeks. But I wasn’t brave enough to make that call! 🤣
@matt_glennen@KelvinMatthew13 Ha, we would have to cut numbers for that. Can’t get the whole herd through July/Aug/Sept without making a mess generally. If milk price goes down and costs stay up, that’s on the cards tho..
@matt_glennen@KelvinMatthew13 That’s great September growth rates for Simpson! 😂 utilisation is a massive struggle this year.. our farm is pretty much at 2600kg plus across the board and nothing we can do about it. I don’t usually want our spring calvers to hurry up, but I do this year!
@milkmaidmarian Email: Hi B, just a reminder that $X remains outstanding to Y for work performed, which was due to be paid on (date), some 6 weeks ago. Should this amount remain outstanding beyond COB on X date, this matter will be referred to the the FairWork Ombudsman. Thanks, Y’s mum
@thebigperc@Straigh84788694@brianjcorr1@dhanks012@Donna_Edge_@SirLoin1958 On last years figures (more autumn milk than this yr) our 270 Xbreds doing 580kg MS and 7,200L per head would sit on $8.69 of the $8.80 average. No litre chasing here 🤷♀️ that said, I’m not unhappy with the pay structure compared to other factories. Just prefer how it used to be!
@dhanks012@Donna_Edge_@SirLoin1958 Yep, I was happier with the 40c it used to be. That put us about 5c below the weighted average which is really just minus levies, so fair.
@Donna_Edge_@SirLoin1958 Unfortunately the gap between first half of the year and second half of the year payment with ADFC has gotten wide this coming year, so we at 45% flat will sit 13c below the average.
@AJamesPickersg2 @LocalRiverDeity If we are going to start limiting who votes.. why not give everyone one vote per dollar of tax they pay? More tax = more say. Imagine the indignation on Twitter then 😂
