We're now seeing more of the internals behind Project Rosalind in detail.

We knew about the Overledger enabled API layered system, but until now we hadn't seen the full extent of all participants.

These answers were unveiled today.

Here's the internal utilities of Rosalind

Since Gilbert & the BIS' announcement of Rosalind being successful in June 2023, we had gotten the spill on all the parties involved.

Barclays: Cash on delivery payments
Mastercard: CBDC enabled debit card
Amazon: Cart checkouts settled in CBDCs
Bank of Canada: Programmable wallets
Worldline: Merchant financial services
Hungarian National Bank: Identity services

We'd heard of the previous names before but Worldline & Hungary's Central Bank are certainly news!

Additionally we got some more advanced statistics:

We can see that during this testing phase there were over half a million API calls & 33 API endpoints created to connect all the different parties and participants!

But more importantly, it states that 5 private companies also developed new products/utilities on Rosalind.

This is quite exciting to hear that there are already innovative applications being built on the foundation laid by Rosalind.

In other words, these are most likely mDapps given the architecture of how Rosalind was formed!

The best part?

The Rosalind group had expanded further to collaborate with other external entities and have since built smart contract specifications of CBDCs.

This enabled over 25 new use cases and functions for how CBDCs can be used and applied.

And of course... all 25+ use cases are brought to life by Overledger's APIs

Finally the quote shared by the Head of BIS London Centre, Francesca Hopwood Road is also worth mentioning.

The last sentence where Francesca mentions that "Rosalind can make a significant contribution to how organizations around the globe are thinking about & engaging with the design of retail CBDC systems".

This seems to ring true given all that we've seen since Project Rosalind.

From Hong Kong & Israel's CBDC Sela directly inspired by Rosalind, to the E-Korean Won utilizing SATP for their Unified Ledger architecture, to the Bank of Kazakhstan using API gateways across networks.

Rosalind truly has inspired a new wave of CBDCs.

But not just CBDCs... isn't it also strange how the BIS Unified Ledger came into official publication had come just days after Project Rosalind...?

And to add to that we can see the BIS Unified Ledger even adopts the same API gateway architecture to interoperate and unify the ledger to all existing parties.

In a sense, Rosalind wasn't just a prototype for an rCBDC utilizing an API architecture.

It was also the prototype frameworks for the Unified Ledger framework by the BIS.
