Today we have created a Cross-Party group in Westminster with a group of Care Leavers and MP's. All Care Experienced People are invited to be members and will have voting rights and can help set the agenda Here is the constitution and membership application form. https://t.co/riFcTHxZgf
The group will showcase what is happening in councils that have passed the motion to "Treat Care Experience as if it were a Protected Characteristic" we are inviting all 107 councils that have passed the motions and all Care Experienced People to join.
We met today and voted that Chris LAW MP who Care Experienced and from Scotland will be the chair, Darren Paffey MP who is Care Experienced and from England will be the Vice Chair and Jessica Morden MP who is from Wales will be an officer.
Here we are in St Stephens Chapel, the forgotton heart of the Palace of Westminster, this place was for 7 centuries the debating chamber of the House of Commons, quite poignant and relevant for us Care Experienced People who have created a voice of our own in this place.
