THREAD: ‘Behaviour is slipping’. Everyone on SLT has heard this before. But what should we do? I’ve been lucky to work in some great schools that have improved behaviour significantly. Here’s some of the things I’ve learned about tackling behavioural drift:

Morale should always be a priority of every leader. When people feel valued, supported, appreciated, and that their strengths are being utilized, it improves engagement, job satisfaction, and overall sense of well being.
Creating a culture where teachers can teach and pupils can learn is so important in schools.
The impact of low-level disruption is often overlooked but has big impacts on teaching and learning.
Sweat the small stuff 👌
Developing student vocabulary isn’t just the role of English teachers.
It should be embedded across the curriculum.
