@RockyNPS This does not surprise me one bit w/that photo posted all over social media w/the background. It was pretty obvious this was going to happen! Duh! No doubt they looked for the shed too! The park should have got to Big Kahuna first because this seemed inevitable. He was a trophy!!

.@sherrieduris had the neat opportunity of seeing the long-tailed weasel hunt in the snow. Weasels eat mice, shrews, chipmunks, small ground squirrels, rabbits and ground-nesting birds.

Estes Park photographer @sherrieduris captured this long-tailed weasel. Of the 8 members of the weasel family known in Colo., only 2 are called weasels: the long-tailed & the short-tailed weasels. Both turn white in winter except for the tip of the tail. Both are brown in summer
