🔹 After finishing this painting, Shevchenko was expelled from the Society for the Promotion of Artists and deprived of monthly monetary pay — such a riot the painting caused in St. Petersburg.

🇺🇦 Now this painting is exhibited at the Shevchenko National Museum in Kyiv.
