In major breakthrough in the fight against cancer, Israeli scientists have discovered a protein in the body that prevents the immune system from working. They were then able to remove the protein allowing the immune system to function again.

One of the co-authors of the study, Professor Carmit Levy, said they are working to develop an effective drug treatment for cancer patients, based on these findings.
