- An Increase of almost 76 lakhs Votes from 20-11-2024 (5:00 PM) to before the Counting.

Very simply, when polls closed at 5.00 p.m. on the 20th, the turnout was 58.22%. By 11.30 p.m. on the same day, after accommodating people presumably waiting in the queue to vote at 5.00 p.m., it increased to 65.02%.

Hours before the counting started on the 23rd it was put at 66.05%. This means that the turnout increased by 7.83% after polls closed at 5.00 p.m.

WhatsApp groups in the #Pune birding circle are literally a- buzz since yesterday evening.
Two different groups of birders have sighted what is the first record of the European Honey Buzzard (Pernis apivorus) for the entire state of #Maharashtra. Birders Aniruddha Gokhale, Mayur Arole and Pankaj Inamdar along with young birders, Shamik Parab and Nishad Homkar were able to see and document it on the citizen science platform for birdwatching — Ebird.
The sighting is significant considering that there are only sporadic records of this species being sighted elsewhere in India (https://t.co/zo8J0Pir9T) and adds on to the long list of rare bird sightings at the #VetalTekdi this season. It also underscores the importance of Vetal Tekdi as an urban open space and biodiversity hotspot that needs to be recognised as a natural heritage of Pune.
The sightings have happened during the on-going Vetal Tekdi Birding Marathon, an open for all birding event being organised by the @VTBKS_Pune as a part of the #PakshiSaptah (Bird Week) in Maharashtra. Dr Salim Ali and Shri Maruti Chitampali in whose remembrance this bird week is celebrated would be proud of this lot of birders who have helped document this important sighting!
