East District Police successfully solved the sensational murder case of a lady Assistant Professor within a short span of time.

A joint team of Special Staff, ASB Cell, Anti-Narcotics Squad and PS New Ashok Nagar, East District apprehended two accused and a CCL from Burdwan, West Bengal.

The case was worked out through meticulous CCTV analysis, technical surveillance and sustained investigation.

Key recoveries include the deceased's mobile phone, weapon of offence, clothes used during the crime and travel documents.

The programme was attended by RWAs/MWAs members, residents, ACsP, SHOs, and police staff of East District. Discussions were held on cyber awareness, prevention of online frauds, women safety, anti-drug awareness, and strengthening police-public coordination.

The programme reflected the continued commitment of East District Police towards community partnership and public safety

A team of Special Cell/SR, led by Inspectors Shiv Kumar and Karamvir Singh under the supervision of ACP Neeraj Kumar, has arrested notorious drug syndicate kingpin Manoj Khillo from Koraput, Odisha. He had been absconding in connection with a 2022 drug trafficking case registered at the Crime Branch Police Station, Delhi, and was declared a Proclaimed Offender. The Delhi Police had announced a reward of ₹50,000 for information leading to his arrest.

VIDEO | Delhi: Additional DCP South-East District Aishwarya Sharma says, "On January 5, we received an FIR lodged by a person named Vikash Sharma, who works as manager in Disha Private Limited. He claimed that one of his employees Ramu and cook Anuj were involved in money laundering of Rs 15 lakh. The amount belonged to the company. During our investigation, it was revealed that he had filed a fake e-FIR. We were able to crack the case in less than 24 hours under the able leadership of ACP, Sarita Vihar, Virendra Dala. Rs 14.50 lakh, motorcycle and Ramu's phone have been recovered by our team."
