The impeachment motion moved by the DMK and Congress against Justice Swaminathan is an outright assault on the judiciary. It is a desperate attempt by the India Alliance to browbeat a judge simply because he upheld a perfectly reasonable and constitutional order permitting the Kartigai Deepam.

This reckless weaponisation of impeachment to intimidate the judiciary must be condemned in the strongest terms.

The Congress has a long and dark history of attacking independent judges. During the Emergency, they superseded judges, threatened courts, and shook the very foundations of India’s justice delivery system. What they are doing today is cut from the same unconstitutional cloth.

This impeachment motion deserves to be thrown out immediately.
And the anti Hindu, anti constitutional mindset driving the Congress-DMK combine must be exposed for what it is - an assault on faith, on freedom, and on the integrity of our institutions.
