@theSAScollect Q3 SASsix University of Exeter medical school, when advertising for posts requiring a medically trained doctor for teaching roles, require you to be on the specialist register or GP register. When I have challenged them I am told “it is complicated” #SASSix

@theSAScollect Q2 SASsix a lot of medical schools are short on educators and SAS could be a valuable resource. Exposing medical students to SAS doctors early allows them exposure to explore other pathway options.

@theSAScollect #SASSix I am a specialty doctor that has been regarded as specialist. Both my line manager and clinical lead were very tenacious at moving it forward. It was on the agenda at every consultant meeting. You need to get the JD right.

@theSAScollect #SASSix Q3 people (HR, managers, clinical leads) don’t know how to make it happen. And when they try to move things forward they get conflicting advice. The job description reaches a level of management waiting for approval and then meets a dead end. This is person experience.

@RobJimFleming One weekend our hospital updated the software for the digital dictation system but didn’t think to check that the hardware still worked with it so when everyone turned up to work on Monday none of the dictaphones worked.

@theSAScollect Q4 SASsix One of the issues I had when I was first asked to take a lead role (governance) was concerns about getting paid/negotiating job plans. I didn’t want to do it for free/kudos but felt awkward asking.
