It’s wild how inefficiently preclinical biotech companies were being started between 2018-2022.

Expensive C suite / advisors —> immediate layers of hierarchy —> specialists for every discipline —> massive lab footprint. Often no sense of urgency.

It has become completely consensus that “wetlab is the verification bottleneck” in AI x Bio.

But there’s a massive difference between automating 1000 reps of one type of experiment vs autonomously translating a preclinical program.
