What is it about the Jewish community of my small Massachusetts town that fosters so much creativity that a full 30% of this year's CJP Arts and Culture Community Impact Grants went to artists who live here?

Despite the (true, but also overly alarmist) headline, I'd like to think that this opinion piece is actually somewhat optimistic.

Today on my recommended reading new comic rack, Arnon Shorr ‘s great book, Brother’s Keeper (available also from him directly). A tale from his family history set during Israel’s 1948 War of Independence about his grandfather who was wounded in the battle of Ramat Rachel.
Arnon @shorr and Josh Edelglass’ latest comic book wasn’t intended to impart any kind of grand message and it certainly wasn’t meant to feel familiar or timely. But after October 7, it unexpectedly took on new meaning. My latest @jdforward: https://t.co/IkNnC2yBB4
A recent graphic novel about Israel's war of independence in 1948, has suddenly become even more relevant in the aftermath of the horrific attack by Hamas committed on October 7. @AviGreen1 discusses Brother's Keeper here: https://t.co/diZLCFKsF5 #comics
